My Father's House
My Fathers House Community Services
Our vision is to see every individual and family
living successfully and interdependently
within a caring community
PARTNERS
My Father's House Community Services enjoys many partnerships with other community organizations and businesses in our community. We appreciate these partnerships and the assistance and help they have brought to us and the folks we serve. We believe these partners care about people and this community and that is why they have chosen to make a difference.
MENTAL HEALTH
Elizabeth Layton Center provides mental health services and evaluations for MFH. An ELC therapist visits the campus of My Father's House to provide some services and mental health evaluations. Elizabeth Layton Center provides excellent services in a warm environment. Among all of the standard services provided by community mental health centers, ELC is proficient in providing dual diagnosis treatment. Dual diagnosis treatment is a new emerging best practice for the effective treatment of addiction with a coexisting mental health diagnosis. CHURCHES
Local churches within our county have responded to us with help in the form of finances and volunteers. Often churches will bring food and other essential items to us for use in our facility. Many of member churches of the Paola Association for Church Action (PACA) and the Osawatomie Ministerial Alliance (OMA) have participated at some level. Youth groups from some of the member groups have worked on our building during our renovation phase.
LOCAL CLUBS & CIVIC ORGANIZATIONS
Many local groups have partnered with us--even if only to allow us to come and speak about homelessness in our community. This alone has helped us to get the word out about local strugglers and our programs to address their plight.
SCHOOL GROUPS
Groups from high schools and universities have come to work at My Father's House. Ongoing relationships with
Paola High School, MidAmerica Nazarene University and Ottawa University are valued by us.
DENOMINATIONAL PARTNERSHIP
My Father's House Community Services enjoys a fabulous relationship with the Church of the Nazarene. It has been declared a Compassionate Ministry Center by the denomination's Nazarene Compassionate Ministries, a department of the church.
BUSINESSES
Many businesses have lent their support by giving financially or with gifts-in-kind. Let's begin with Americare who owns North Point Skilled Nursing Center in Paola, gave us the building that we now call home. What a gigantic gift and life-giver to our dream. RSC Equipment Rental gave us the use of a backhoe and a loader when we needed to replace our water main. Lighthouse Electric helped throughout the entire remodel project. GK Smith & Sons of Paola helped with the replacement of our boiler system by advising and helping us find equipment. Gerkens Rent-All donated the use of equipment including concrete saws. Shawnee Mission Hospital and KU Medical Center donated equipment and furnishings. Flooring Warehouse gave assorted supplies and ceramic tile for our renovation. Mott Signs donated the sign that sets at our entrance. Jayhawk Fire Sprinkler donated supplies and labor to get our leaking fire sprinkler system repaired and online.
FOUNDATIONS
The Roman Foundation, managed by Team Bank of Paola, Kansas, has given financially in very significant ways to help us meet the matching funds requirements of our HUD grant.
NONPROFIT ORGANIZATIONS
East Central Kansas Economic Opportunity Corporation (ECKAN), through its weatherization program, replaced all of our buildings windows with high efficiency, double pained, vinyl-covered aluminum windows. They also added about 8" of blown insulation to our entire attic area. Both efforts have greatly increased our ability to heat and cool our facility at a much lower cost.
